gallbladder maybe? Take him to a clinic or even the county health department where they will only charge what you can afford based on your income and where they allow you to make payments like 5 dollars a month if that's all u can pay
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Pain in the upper left abdomen can be due to stomach issues (GERD or hiatal hernia), spleen issues, due to an abscess below the left diaphragm, a hematoma (localized collection of blood), an abscess, or a muscle pull. A CT scan would be diagnostic.
Try a combination of medications like a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole, empty stomach in the morning and an antacid gel after meals for complete relief. Avoid heavy meals and eat frequent small meals. Avoid too much of caffeine, tea, smoking, fried food and drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic fuzzy ones.
See if these tips help your husband. Otherwise I am sorry, but he would need to consult a gastroenterologist. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Do you have a family doctor (PCP), or a medical walk-in clinic that your husband can visit? Maybe he/she can order blood or urine tests to be done. Has he been taking prescription or over the counter drugs that may have had an adverse reaction to his system? If he has, perhaps you should call Poison Control (found in the phone book, page 1) to see if they can help or advise you better. I would even suggest demanding to have tests done. No one knows our bodies better than ourselves, afterall.
I wish you well.
