from sherrisummers607 ss i meant to say orthedonist not neurologist yesterday.
If you go to an orthopedist, make sure that it is a pediatric orthopedist because your son is still growing, and growth plates are still active. Has ibuprofen helped with the pain? He also could be experiencing "growing pain", which is literally that, but there may be special precautions he has to take depending on where the pain is. Another reason to see an pediatric orthopedist.
My son has pain in his knees and feet, and the knees are Osgood-Schlaters, which requires that if he is having pain, he must stop what he is doing. The result of not stopping results in bone changes to the knee.
i had pain in my arm and went to the er and no one could tell me what was wrong i was to told to see a neurologist and when i went to the neurologist he could tell right away that it wasn't nothing wrong with my arm and that my problem was my NECK so have your son checked for a HERNIATED DISC IN HIS NECK. that could be causing his PAIN IN HIS ARM. NOT A DR but have experienced this problem.
you can't really see much on x-ray besides bone fractures. who prescribed it to you? maybe MRI would be more fit for the purpose. he should see a specialist , Physical medicine, orthopedist.
