very painful sores in mouth jaw bone pain

Please HELP!!!!   My 78 yr old mother has been experiencing continous painful sores/blisters in her mouth with pain in jaw up to temple area.  She has been to two dentists, two primary care physicians, alerists, ENT, urgent care & emergency room twice, no one has been able to diagnose the problem & have put her on anitibiotics approx. 10 times now.  The antibiotics do begin to help but within in 2-3 days after stopping the antibiotics the problem is back.  She has lost so much weight as it is so painful to eat.  Each doctor passes her off to another with no diagnosis.  Please help we are so worried and do not know where to turn.  She has great medical insurance so this is not a problem. We don't know how much more she can take. She was prescribed morphine as other pain meds just didn't cut it.  She has never been a big user of pain meds and her quality of life is getting worse by the day.She has had four children, open heart surgery (years ago), knee replacement, hysterectomy, etc. & states this pain is by far worse than any other she has ever experienced.

i also think it is terrible that no one has been able to find out what is wrong and every doctor has passed her off to another especially as you say she is getting worse there must be something causing this, you would think they would look into everything with the antibiotics working until she has stopped them

hi debra

i feel for your mother especially if she is describing the pain worse than the operations and other things she has had this must be unbearable for her

has she had any blood tests done?
