if your thyroid is underactive it causes your metabolism to slow down..could cause you to gain weight, or make it difficult to lose. it also can , in general, make your bodily functions just much slower.,.make u feel kinda "draggy" and tired all of the time. i think it can be caused by some sort of autoimmune reaction where your body produces antibodies and for some reason they attack and gradually destry the thyroid gland..thats why you feel so tired..it slows everything down. but there are medications for it.  hope this helped! i think its just a simple blood test also to check your thyroid.  you say you had your blood drawn. if u told the doc u were feling run down and tired im sure they would have had the thyroid part of the bloodwork they ordered..you should call him uo and ask him to check..it'll be on your record. GOODLUCK AND HOPE YOURE FEELING BETTER :)

I think you should take a good amount of B-12, and also other vitamins, minerals, bioflavonoids, and other nutrients that all work synergistically and nutrient the cells at an optimal level.
I would further advise you to consult a good homeopath
