why am i swelling and have elevated liver enzymes

i went to the hospital a few days ago because, after a 2 mile run, i started swelling really badly in my face, neck, hands and legs. in my neck there was a terrible burning sensation. and, by my neck, i mean on the outside below each of my ears, not in my throat. it was like my veins were popping out of my neck. when i went to the hospital, they said that my liver enzymes were slightly elevated and it was likely a virus. do i probably have a hepatitis virus?

It sounds like you might have exercise-induced histamine production. I have this condition and have itchy skin when I exercise. Raised levels of histamine can cause symptoms such as itching, nasal congestion, asthma, red eyes, hives, angioedema (swelling) and anaphylaxis (swelling of the airways). Raises levels of histamine also raise liver enzymes. It would be recommended to take an anti-histamine before exercising.
