epididymitis....

I contracted Clahmydia approx 3 months ago...  I was treated by my PCP with a one week dosage of Doxycicline(unsure if thats the correct spelling) and when that didnt work, a one gram powder package of arthrymiacin(also unsure of the spelling).  I have since been back to my PCP to be tested approx a month ago which came back negative... And then I went to another doctor approx a week ago for a test just to be sure, and it also came back negative.  The problem is...I'm still having aches in my right testical, along with a wierd feeling(almost a tickling) sometimes when I urinate.  I went to a Urologist who said he believes it could possibly be epididymitis because my right testical was slightly swollen...but he was unsure.  He perscribed me a month long dosage of Levaquin...  My question to him was(which he really didn't answer)....  If both tests came back negative for Clahmydia(along with other common STI's) is it ok for me to be sexually active unprotected(reasons I don't want to get in to) with my partner??  If both tests came back negative for Clahmydia....Is it possible for her to still contract it if I have Epididymitis??

If it is epididymitis you will have a lump inside your scrotum next to your swollen testicle--- the lump is inside the "tube" that carries sperm

I am no doctor but i have had it before and just got it again -  Simple antibiotics can treat it in about a week  - - Ciprofloxacin is good for epididymitis and the pain goes away gradually - -

I have got it twice now and it usaually starts about 10 days after unprotected sex - Have fun with it-- werid symptoms although - it sometimes makes your ejacualtions feel  AWESOME - ( but then your balls hurt ) lol dont sweat it

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
With negative cultures and no discharge it is unlikely that you have any transmittable disease at this time. I do not know what is causing your aching and intermittent dysuria (discomfort when urinating). I have seen many patients who continue to have discomforts following STI's even after adequate treatment. I think that these are related to anxiety. I have dealt with this in other answers recently. I do not see any reason why you cannot resume unprotected sexual activity, but if you two have other partners, be aware that you are essentially exposing each other to all the diseases that these other partners might have. Using a condom could be life saving.
