I ran out of B Complex and I'm now only taken Vitamin B12 sublingual.
My blood cells are slightly out of normal range due to the supplementation. I'm trying to figure out how often to take it to maintain a good level. I don't wish to overdue it Please note I am vegetarian. The dose is 1,000 mcg.
Thanks for your post. Vitamin B12 can also be taken as a sublingual supplement (under the tongue). Please see my original post.
Vitamin B12 is a vitamin. It can be found in foods such as meat, fish, and dairy products. It can also be made in a laboratory.
Vitamin B12 is used for treating and preventing vitamin B12 deficiency, a condition in which vitamin B12 levels in the blood are too low. It is also used to treat pernicious anemia, a serious type of anemia that is due to vitamin B12 deficiency and is found mostly in older people. For this purpose, people use either a supplement that is taken by mouth or a gel that is applied inside the nose.
Vitamin B12 is also used for memory loss; Alzheimer’s disease; boosting mood, energy, concentration and the immune system; and slowing aging. It is also used for heart disease, lowering high homocysteine levels (which may contribute to heart disease), male infertility, diabetes, sleep disorders, depression, mental disorders, weak bones (osteoporosis), swollen tendons, AIDS, inflammatory bowel disease, asthma, allergies, a skin disease called vitiligo, preventing cervical and other cancers, and skin infections.
Some people use vitamin B12 for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s disease), multiple sclerosis, preventing the eye disease age-related macular degeneration (AMD), Lyme disease and gum disease. It is also used for ringing in the ears, bleeding, liver and kidney disease, and for protection against the poisons and allergens in tobacco smoke.
Vitamin B12 is applied to the skin either alone or in combination with avocado oil for psoriasis and eczema.
Vitamin B12 is frequently used in combination with other B vitamins in various vitamin B complex products.
How does it work?
Vitamin B12 is required for the proper function and development of the brain, nerves, blood cells, and many other parts of the body.
Thanks for your post. What are the doses for B Complex and sublingual B12?
Do you alternate or take both daily? Just curious. Sorry, I'm not familiar with Xanax.
the weird thing is the pharmacist warned me about taking them with xanax. i have NEVER heard anything like that and i even googled and couldn't find anything.
i just started taking a B complex and the sub lingual B12. i figured what my body doesn't need it will eliminate on it's own. i am very low in B12 which has basically crippled me, so when it starts working I will probably just try taking the B complex alone.
Thank you very much for your post.
I've been a lacto-ovo vegetarian since 2002. Semi vegetarian since 1992 (meaning I only ate meat occasionally - mainly fish and chicken. The amount of yogurt/Kefir and eggs I consume has varied over the years. I still focus on getting as much daily protein as possible from plant sources (beans, lentils, hemp hearts, nuts, and seeds). I don't care for soy and I believe it is goitrogenic. I do take a Vitamin D supplement also.
Depending on what your diet was prior to supplementation, a B complex supplement is actually a good idea since a lot of people are deficient in other B vitamins if B12 is low.
You could have gotten away with a good multivitamin though such as the one from Now Foods (Adams women something - I was using a version tailored to men which had more potency).
