Can't breathe while running

I'm a 20 year-old male, average-ish body. I cannot breathe when I run. I ran all summer, at least a mile or two a day, and it never got any better. I don't think this has much to do with fitness, because I can easily do an hour on an exercise bike. However, I can't run for more than a couple minutes without being out of breath and having to stop.

I too would think maybe something like exercise-induced asthma.  Reflux can also trigger asthma.

I would definitely get it checked out.  If everything comes back fine I would perhaps look at running and breathing technique.

I'm not exactly sure.  Some people can experience exercise-induced asthma which can impact them particularly when they are outside.  But it might be worth looking into further with your doctor.
