Am I doing it right???

So It's been a week since I started dieting....I am really careful about what I eat, I increased eating vegetables, fruits and cut all the sodas out...It was really hard for me to start drinking water but after 3 days I started to get used it...I have been writing everything I am eating in my diary and to my surprise I only consume an average of 1500 calories a day when I am supposed to eat around 2300, but the fact is I am not even hungry, at all!!!! I also started exercising, I bought an elliptical and I am doing about 15mins a day, plus crunches, dips, squats...all that good stuff....I was wondering if I was doing this diet right, I read a couple of articles stating that it was bad to eat less of your calories intake especially when you are exercising....I just want to know what am I doing wrong...Thanks

Thank you Tara, I heard about the HGC diet, does it really work? Are you taking the pills or the drops? I want to try but I don't really know where to purchase it...Could you help me with that? Thanks so much :-)

Hello.  
  I was reading your comments and it's great to see you have a good mind set, no one said this was going to be easy.  I started the HCG Diet and I am on 500 calories a day ..  What I want to bring up to you is VEGGIES .. Some are better then others . Look into them, I am allowed a hand full of certain veggies.  Spinach is the main one I eat, raw and cooked, also cucumbers.  being that you are working so hard, maybe a better veggie will help you even more. Oh another important factor to help weight loss- NO COLD DRINKS. Cold drinks slow down the metabolism, try room temperature.  And when you get out of bed drink a glass of water, this starts your metabolism.  Hope these few tips help you out .. If I can think of anymore I will be glad to share.  ~ Tara

Well thanks for the support...I hope I can stick to my diet and start exercising more...I think water is the key, I am trying to drink 1 glass of water before every meal :)...
Newstart2012 Good luck on your diet!!!! You can do it if you really want it...Everytime you feel like snacking just eat a fruit and think about the goal you set up for yaself and how good you will feel afterwards...

It sounds like you are off to a good start!

The key thing now is to look for slow, gradual weight loss and stick with what you are doing.  Keep up the good work!

If that is working for u, then continue doing it.. I started last Monday, & weighed n yesterday, & had lost 13lbs.although, not taking in 1000-1500 a day, started eating more fruits/veggies, cut out all sodas & drank water. However, I'm still having the urge 2 snack on sweets here & there not as much. In the future, my sweet cravings may b gone, but 4 now they r still there. I've been also doing cardio, & walking, so hopefully that will b an extra benefit...
