Weight gain instead of loss..

Ok I know that when you first start working out and exercising to it is normal to have weight gain...Due to building muscles and the water gain as you stretch and tear muscles..But How long should your weight be going up??

I have already lost a inch off my hips in a week so that shows that I am doing something right..But those numbers on that scale are really disappointing..

Im not sure how long it lasts, but I always pay more attention to inch loss and the way my clothes fit versus the scale. Sometimes it can take a while for it to catch up with the scale. I find that I get discouraged when I see the scale go and stay up despite the fact that I look thinner and have lost inches.
