Cardiac arrythmias

doctor , as u are the cardiologist , my dad is a heart patient with age 53 , he has an icd placed after a shock. before there was a heart attach , a severe one .
3 days backs , due to multiple arrythmias , he got about 100 or more shocks from the icd , now he is on ventilator from  2days and doctors are observing him for a day without shock , so the ventillator can be removed .
well he has no breathing problem , but to relax him he is on vents , because several shocks at a time hurts him .
Is ablation the only way to bring my father back , i hope there is another non-risky treatment , please help me

It sounds frightening although reassuring in the sense that he is possibly in the best place for treatment and care.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad.

There are situations in which ablations can help reduce the frequency of abnormal heart rhythms, but this can't always be done for all types of abnormal heart rhythms.  This is definitely something that his doctors will be most qualified to address with you.  I hope that it's a possibility.  Take care.
