Swollen right tonsil in 6 yr old girl

Hi. My daughter is 6 (going to be 7 in June), and her right tonsil is very swollen...it actually touches the uvula.  It has been this way for quite some time....seems to be a permanent thing. She is not, nor has she been sick for quite some time.  She hasn't had strep for over a yr, and I honestly can't remember the last time she even had a cough or cold.  She is a very healthy, active little girl.  She eats well, and sleeps well, but does snore, A LOT, and I have noticed on occasion that her breath is pretty bad. I do have an appointment with her dr at the end of this week, but my concern is cancer. I should have never googled it...because all you see all over the screen is "LYMPHOMA". her doc said she wants to do some blood work and some imaging.  Can anyone tell me why she would want to do those things? I'm worried that she is worried that there is more to this than just a swollen tonsil....because if she wasn't, shed just send us to ent.  Anyone have any similar experiences...or can ease my worries a bit!  Thanks!!
