20cm cyst and pregnant

I am 20 weeks pregnant and 39 years old.  At my recent ultrasound they found a 20cm cyst on my ovary.  Three weeks before I got pregnant I had an 8 cm cyst drained.  Has anyone had this issue?  I am concerned.  I believe they saw septations inside the cyst (I saw one I believe).  I swear I thought they were also checking blood flow to the ovaries.  The tech of course doesn't tell you this when they are doing the scan...they wait for the doctor to come in with the news.  I have had no pain, and when I read the symptoms, they are no different than pregnancy symptoms.  Anyway, what do they normally do for treatment?  I have read surgery with 12 inch scars, but I don't see how that is possible with my pregnancy.  Thankfully, my baby boy is perfectly fine.  I may be seeing a gyn oncologist, because of this, but they are not sure yet.  I am just scared and sad.   I won't do anything that could hurt my baby.  This is my first child and I was hoping for possibly at least one more.  I say take the stupid ovary that keeps producing these cysts.

Thank you for your response.  I have a doctor appointment with a gyn-oncologist tomorrow morning.  When confirming the appointment with the nurse I did confirm that my cyst is 19cm x 16cm- huge for an ovarian cyst.  I also confirmed what I thought I saw on the ultrasound, it had at least one septation (sp).  So, hopefully i will learn more tomorrow to either confirm a scary diagnosis, or to find out what more tests I need.  I will keep you updated.

Hello,
20 cm cyst is a pretty big size. Ovarian cysts mostly are not treated during pregnancy unless they’re large enough to cause pregnancy complications. Large ovarian cysts measuring 6 centimeters or more are removed surgically preferably during the second trimester and that too through laparoscopic surgery.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
