Brown discharge?

I'm 4 days late for my period;
Yesterday I did take a hpt which only showed a faint positive(clear blue +/-) and today I had a small brown discharge spot, and am a little crampy :| .....could something be wrong?

Sometimes its ok to have some brown discharge during early pregnancy.its just old blood.the nurse told me that as soon as u see a positive it means your pregnant even if its a faint line..good luck!!!

Not really red brown; just dark brown discharge, but it was earlier, and since then I haven't seen anymore or been cramping. Sometimes I do see this after my period; but I haven't had a period. So it was kind of startling :| thank you for posting back :)

If the small brown spot was a red brown almost like dark rust and you are crampy it is most likely a sign that you will start your period soon.
