Foul odor around clitoris

I am 19 years old and for a few years now i have had a foul, fishy odor around the area of where the clitoris is. I haven't had any problems with odor in the vagina though. I don't experience redness or itching either. I always wear clean clothes. I bathe everyday and use a gentle feminine cleanser but even right after a shower or bath the smell is there and it gets worse as the day goes on. I have been prescribed a cream to be used in the vagina to get rid of bacteria, but it doesn't help with the odor...I'm assuming because the odor is not coming from the inside of the vagina. I am not sexually active at this time but i am worried about when i am, because the odor is embarrassing. Any ideas or thoughts?

I too had this same odor coming from the clitoris. Could not figure out why.  So glad to hear about a remedy.  I have used so many unscented baby wipes a day to remove the odor to only have it return. Have changed underwear multiple times when the odor gets into them. I will try the milk soaked towel remedy. THANKS SO MUCH.

I am about to go to the obgyn myself pretty soon. I do have this prob specifically. Vagina smells fine. Clit and labia smell horrible. and its a STRONG smell. And yes, I touched the areas to test it. The opening of my vag smells like a natural vag smell. Did the same thing with my clit and labia and of course it smelled horrible. Like fishy smell. It is embarrassing. And it makes me feel self-conscious around my bf.

What did the doctor end up saying about what to do?
hi arh1122, welcome to the forum.  So, my suggestion is to take a small amount of antibacterial soap on a wash cloth and wash the folds of your vagina with it.  Bacteria can get trapped there.  Do now wash inside the vagina, just the folds outside. See if that helps.

just lather a bar of soap on a wash cloth and then pool the peroxide in the wash cloth and wash it's a temporary fix but it will last all day and odor be gone!!!

I had a hysterctomy this last August and the healing process is stinky, weeks of foul discharge. It's now been 5 months to the date no discharge but a foul smell from the clit and labia area.  Even after a bath or shower. My obgyn has always said not to use soaps or douches because they harm the chemistry of the vagina and labia......I suspect maybe its my urine...I don't know

This is many, many, many years later, however, I thought I was alone. Most of you ladies have nipped the description of what I am going through right in the bud. I have this problem on and off and it is very embarrassing to admit to a gyn. I am a strong believer of remedies. So I will try what Mara suggested.
