Has anyone taken Ortho novum 1/35? pls help me in this.

Hi everybody here I am again.. I was wondering if anybody had taken the BC pill named ortho novum 1/35? how did it go? just personal experiences? I had a doctor's appointment today and it didn't matter how many times I said no I don't want anymore hormones the doctor insisted and insisted which really bothered me...I wanted to try the diaphragm to what she said "I wouldn't recomend it" =/ Im really scared of going back on the pills..I left them like 1 month ago and I feel great...first pill I  ever tried gave me horrible nauceas (ortho cyclen lo) second one (Alesse) had depression...I do not wanna feel like that again...but then I thought well if people think it's good and actually there are good experiences with it I guess I could give it a try even though Im terrified of feeling like I did before. I really wanted to give the diaphragm a try and I know the doctor can't deny it..even though she kept talking about the pills constantly after I said no as I final answer! I just want some opinions? what do you all think?  should I keep trying new pills? or give the diaphragm a chance? just for info I have a serious relationship, been together for over a year and with future plans! =D

I am not sure if my comment will help, but here goes.  I am not sure how old everyone is but I am 33.  When I was 17 I went to my local health dept. behind my mothers back and they put me on Ortho Novium 1/35.  I was on it for like 6 years with no problems.  When I got married and had my child i wanted to get back on them.  This was like 5 years after I had stopped taken them before.  My body had changed so much that any kind they put me on gave me such MOOD swings that I couldn't take any of them.  After about 3 or 4 different kinds I stopped trying to take any of them.  I will say if there is some kind you can tolerate it would be very beneficial for you. Since I have had my daughter my period was messed up and the doctor would want me to try another bc pill.  I never would.  Last year I was having trouble and found out I had a cyst on my ovary which never went away but was continuing to grow and had to have surgery to remove ovary and tube on that side.  After research, I found out that bc pills keep your ovaries from producing normal cyst every month and thus preventing pregnancy and cyst that enlarge like the one I had that was abnormal.  I don't mean to scare you but bc pills are good if you kind find the one your body will tolerate best.

you're very right but I don't think it's fair to put your body through all of it ..if youre one of those persons that suffer horrible side effects! =S it's so difficult!  =P

I understand what youre going through Jacquie87  =/  they are bad! I experienced nauceas and depression with my pills...yesterday that I went to the doc, she said she didn't like any of the pills I had tried and wanted me to try ortho novum 1/35...just like you I don't like BC because of my two first experiences but at tghe same time I think there must be a better one =/
I talked it over with me bf and he said that we should do what I want, if Im comfortable go ahead if not he suppots me and we'll find some other method...so pretty much it's up to me if I wanna take them or not..I still wanna think about it! =(

yea well the only plus side is if you don't want to get pregnant right now, they are extrememly effective in preventing that.

bcp's are the worst for depression. I have been an absolute nutbag for the last month and I'm sure my pills are the reason. and you say the pregnancy symptoms are normal!? my nausea has been terrible and I'm on about the third month of tricyclen.

Thank you so much for your answer! Im more relieved to hear that somebody had a good experience with them. my bf and I will talk about it. what mostly stops me from taking them is just fear to going back to depression and how I was feeling, he is very understanding with me and supports me but still he doesn't get why Im so scared.. oh I bet he remembers those days where I would just start crying for no reason lol he would always give me this  weird look like what happened? we were all happy and all of a sudden I would cry! ...I guess I can always stop them if I don't feel good with them, makes me feel a lot better...thank you so much again! =)

hi! i took it for over two years. it worked good. for the first month or two i was on it i had alot of pregnancy symptoms(it is normal for this pill) but they gradually went away. if you do dedice to take them just be patient and give them some time to get your body adjusted to them. i had been on the depo for over 4 years and deciede to go to the pill and they switched me to ortho novum 1/35 since it has a high level of estrogen and i had not had a af in 4 years and it was going to get me started havign a af. once i got my af coming they tried to put me on a lower pill but i bleed all the time so i went back to novumn 1/35. i actually got pregnant the first month i got off of the pill event though the dr told me it might take 6 months or longer since i was on depo and the pill for so long. i did have a m/c in april but i am wating for 2nd af so we can ttc again. i wish you the best of luck. the pill to me seems like the best. i dont know about the diphgram and stuff i never wanted to try that. i would not even suggest depo now after what i was told by my obgyn(after i had been on it for over 4 years)a great time to tell me. anyways sorry i am rambling. i hope this was some help..
