I NEED HELP

So I have had a super heavy period for 2 months straight and it is still going! I started having my periods last year in September. I am not having any cramps whatsoever. I feel fine, but it is really troubling me. Last year I was in a ton of sports and I had my period in December and it didn't return until June/July this year. It has always lasted long but not this long. My periods are so heavy I have to change my super tampon every hour if not sooner. This is really scaring me and I want it to just stop and be normal. Please help! I have also had a lot of blood clots

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Excessive amount or duration of menstrual flow, at more or less regular intervals is called menorrhagia. Sometimes it is associated with polymenorrhea(Frequent flow, cycles of ≤21 days). Causes of menorrhagia are Hypothyroidism, Endometrial proliferation or hyperplasia like ovarian tumor and polycystic ovarian disease, endometrial polyps and neoplasia, endometriosis, fibroids and uterine sarcomas. But in your case it looks like it is due to the IUD.

In my opinion you need to get your pelvic examination done from your gynecologist along with investigations like complete blood count, thyroid function tests,PAP smear and ultrasound uterus.Once cause of menorrhagia is identified, treatment can be planned.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

You need to talk to your gynecologist about controlling this.  Unfortunately it is likely to require birth control pills.  That's what I had to do, but the side effects were unpleasant with yeast infections and such.  But you will get anemic if you don't get relief.
