Is almost monthly dysmenorrhea normal?

When i first got my period it hurt but not that much until the 2nd time and I got really bad dysmenorrhea and then it continued like that almost every month for 9 years now. Once in a while i get normal cramps but most of the time it's dysmenorrhea. Is this normal? Should i go to a doctor?

Hi there. Women will have varying degrees of painful cramps.  Does ibuprofen help?  I wouldn't go to the doctor specifically for this but as you've had your period for 9 years, I'm sure you see an ob/gyn annually for a pelvic exam.  If not, then you should be.  At that appointment, talk to your doctor about the painful cramps.  good luck
