Here is an excellent explaination of pap smear results. You likely had what is known as ASCUS. Or other benign appearing cellular changes often associated with inflammation. Print out the article and read it. It's very good.

The big concern about HPV? - brandy_bodiford: 12/09/2006

Here is a copy of the name and date of the post where I put up my info on Abnormal paps. I posted about three times on the thread.
The thread is about half way down the site.
The thread comments on HPV in particular, but I wrote of my experience with the whole cervical dsyplasia thing...I did not have HPV. The thinking is that my problem was caused by a hormonal imbalance. I did not wait the three months to be retested, although this option was suggested to me. Instead, I asked for a colposcopy.
I have a friend who had a bad pap result but it turned out that the night before the exam, she and her husband had intercourse, and it kind of messed up the reading.
I think I have posted elsewhere regarding this subject, but I think the posts are pretty complete.
Best to you...
Mary
thanks mary. she said it wasnt hpv or abnormal cells. im not going to worry about it anymore, lol, its out of my system. hope everyone has happy cervix's for the new year! hehe.
