RESULTS FROM PAP I HAVE TO GO BACK IN 3 MONTHS

well i received a call from my dr's office. they said my results from my pap showed my cervix was irritated or something. they said it could be from hormones, yeast, bv. i seem to think it had to be hormones, i dont have an infection. i was ovulating or close to it when i went to my appointment. they said it was normal after having something show up to do another in 3 months. im still confused. i talked to the med. asst and she was rushed. anyone else have this happen? i asked if i have bv shouldnt i take some meds and she said she doubted it was that since the levels were low? i dont get that either . i will now google everything i can and self diagnose! haha. im sure it was to do with hormones, but i am not one to be convinced unless someone has a great bit of info to share and i know you ladies will do just that. oh and i will probably check every 10 min. till i do lol

Here is an excellent explaination of pap smear results.  You likely had what is known as ASCUS.  Or other benign appearing cellular changes often associated with inflammation.  Print out the article and read it.  It's very good.

Hi Perty,

The big concern about HPV? - brandy_bodiford: 12/09/2006
--------------------------------------------------
Here is a copy of the name and date of the post where I put up my info on Abnormal paps. I posted about three times on the thread.

The thread is about half way down the site.

The thread comments on HPV in particular, but I wrote of my experience with the whole cervical dsyplasia thing...I did not have HPV. The thinking is that my problem was caused by a hormonal imbalance. I did not wait the three months to be retested, although this option was suggested to me. Instead, I asked for a colposcopy.

I have a friend who had a bad pap result but it turned out that the night before the exam, she and her husband had intercourse, and it kind of messed up the reading.

I think I have posted elsewhere regarding this subject, but I think the posts are pretty complete.

Best to you...

Mary
