Itchy Vagina Pain?

My girl has had an extremely itchy and painful vagina, towards the outside of it, for the last few days. She can't even sit comfortably right now and it burns when she pees. She is hoping it is a yeast infection but we both fear that it might be an STD. Any insight would be appreciated.

The only time I experienced itchiness was when I had a yeast infection and it was easily cleared up with a three day over the counter cream. However, just recently I had an std and I didn't even know because I was asymptomatic. Only reason I went in was for bacterial vaginosis which I was having symptoms for. My suggestion is to get a cream from Walgreens or CVS for yeast infection and if its not taken care of by then she should get a full std screening.
