Cover the 'bases' not basis. :>) I'd take the diflucan for sure. If you wait to take the others, that is your choice. But treat the yeast portion of your symptoms. Remember, that monostat takes 2 full days to work and doesn't always do the job. So, you may just have a very resilient yeast overgrowth. good luck
I've been through a medical malpractice/wrongful death case for a family member. The laws regarding malpractice are such that it doesn't just include mistakes as those are inherent risk but the follow up. So, please understand that this has nothing to do with malpractice.
During the pap, HE SWABBED you. I'm sure of it and that is all he needs to do. I've been through this.
A week is a long time to take to get results. That is very unusual. Most doctors can actually look at the swab in the office while you are there.
Agree with above, the medications cover the basis of what your symptoms indicated. He was being thorough. good luck
Hello there, take all the medications and make sure you eat, all he's trying to do is prevent any further spread of others STD's but it looks like your problem might just be bacterial vaginosis, the sooner you take them the better. They can be harsh on your system if not treated soon enough, all those medications can work towards the same diagnosis. And he might have done a wet mount and just didnt see the necessary. Hang in there but take your medication please.
Thats the problem though...he did a pap which won't come back for a week, not on Monday. In the meantime I've been having itching for 2 weeks. I looked it up and a pap isn't the right test, he should've done a wet mount so he could look at it that day to accurately diagnose and prescribe the right medication. I can't wait a week before starting treatment, but I don't know which treatment to start and don't want to take FOUR antibiotics unncessarily.
Hi there and welcome. Sounds like he was trying to make you better. The flagyl would be for bacterial vaginosis. The diflucan for a yeast infection. Zithromax is commonly given chlamydia among other things (which you had symptoms of from your description). YOU wanted him to diagnose you but that includes swabbing you and sending it to be looked at to get a direct determination.
this is not medical malpractice in any way hon. He was trying to treat your symptoms and it sounds like this is what you were wanting. You could have held onto the scripts until the lab results of the swab came back and then talk to him by phone to hear the results and filled scripts from there or begin medication from there. Perhaps that is what he was suggesting and you didn't understand this. He is being thorough for what it could be (whether you want to believe it could be an std or not, it IS symptoms of one).
So, perhaps waiting until Monday when he has the results is the best plan. Then you can get direct instructions. good luck
