Menstrual concern

Hi. I'm 21 years old and had my first period when I was 11. Back then my period was irregular. As of now, my period has been quite regular but with a cycle of around 30 to 35 days. My period has always been really heavy that the first 2 days could soak up 4 maxi pads per day each. My period now has started to soak up less pads and I was wondering if this is a good sign or something I should be worried about. Thanks for reading and would love to get responses asap.

I would say it is a good sign. My periods do that every now and then. Sometimes I have discharge and other times I don't have discharge. My symptoms vary. My period cycle used to be every 29 days, then it went to every 38 days and now it comes when it wants to. Sometimes they are very heavy and sometimes they are very light, sometimes it is just spotting. I have went to the dr numerous times and I was told it is nothing to worry about. If you are to worried got to a local women's center or local health dept and get an exam done. I wouldn't worry about it though.

I will update you after I get my next period that should be soon. However, my cycle this month has shown pretty weird unusual signs in terms of vaginal discharge. I would usually get egg white fertile discharge each time before and during ovulation but I haven't seen much of that this month and I can't exactly pinpoint when my ovulation is.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
There is nothing to worry about as initially your periods were heavy. If you have decreased amount of flow then the possibility of oligomenorrhea has to be explored. It is infrequent or occasional very light periods. The causes could be benign tumors of pituitary gland. It could be due disease of thyroid gland like thyrotoxicosis, hormonal imbalance,  pcos (cyst in ovary) etc.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
