Abnormal mentrual bleading for over three weeks

Is it dangerous to bleed for three weeks on a mestrual cicle? I'm 37 years old

How did the dr discover your cysts? I've had two out of my last four periods be really wonky. (Starting two weeks early and lasting three times as long). After the first week, the blood is light, but still there. I went to see my dr after the first odd cycle and told her everything. She ran a bunch of tests, took blood and urine...a week or so later, I received a letter saying that I'm fine. But I'm not fine because it's happening again and I'm starting to worry. I'm 37, no children, never been pregnant, my periods have always been like clock work. Should I see another dr and get a second opinion? Should I request a sonogram or a different test? No

I'm not a doctor but had a similar situation. Found out I had ovarian cysts and polyps. Both could cause irregular bleeding and worth a check up. Plus I get pretty darn irritable lol
