Why am I bleeding between my periods?

I had my period a little over two weeks ago.. it was really heavy and now about 4 days ago I started bleeding light brown blood. Since then the blood has gotten heavier and darker. The second day it started to look pinkish brown, third more red with stringy like clots in it and today it's really dark brown with some small clots and bigger longer ones. Sorry if that's grossing you out I'm just trying to be detailed. I'm really freaking out here and I'm thinking it's cervical cancer... I do have the hpv virus that I got 10 years ago and I had the surgery to get rid of precancerous cells then and it only came back a year or two after that with a small lesion, but then disappeared. I haven't had anything since and I am way overdo for a pap smear. I've been really nervous to get one which I know is stupid, but I have bad anxiety and always think I have some deadly disease. So now as you can imagine I am freaking out.. I have an appointment on Monday to get checked, but I feel like I'm going to lose my mind until then... I have been under high amounts of stress lately and a little over a month ago I got anti inflammatory steroid shots on the lower part of my spine because I have a benign cyst there that's messing with nerves. I was just wondering if this mid cycle bleeding could possible be from stress or if it sounds like cervical cancer symptoms? The blood just smells like blood so it's not really a foul smell or anything like that. But the blood seems to come out more when I'm going to the bathroom rather than doing daily activities. Can someone please help me? Thank you
