Strange Recurrent Yeast Infection

I have done a lot of internet research and I am still confused... I have been having recurrent yeast infections for the past 8 months (about once a month) and I noticed that the very first time I ever got it it was very painful and itchy, but as its progressed over the past 7 months, they have decreased in severity and intensity. I have one right now and its not very itchy at all, just the usual discharge which also isn't very much. I eat healthily 85% of the time (I do enjoy a good burger every once in a while) I do 2 and half hours of exercise at least 3 times a week, and I am generally active. I am also infrequently sexually active (the last time I had intercourse was in May of last year) and I am quite sure its wasn't my partner because 1) we used a condom, and 2) the infection started in October of that year. I don't know if the yeast infection will disappear after a while or if it will continue like this forever? I could really use some insight as to what might be going on, Thanks!

Well, at first I used Monistat, and it cleared up completely but then came back, so I've been trying natural remedies such as rosemary tea and inserting a clove of garlic in the vagina, which clears it up with no unpleasant symptoms. I've even tried the 'yeast suppressant' diet (if that's what it can be called) and not eaten anything with yeast, sugar, etc and eating things like yoghurt with live cultures, and other acidophilus products, but I think I'm wondering if its my immune system? A year before I started having them, I was in my last year of college, and it was one of the most stressful times I've gone through, so that could be what's affecting me..When I get yeast infections, I get tired, lethargic and I lose my appetite for some reason..

Thanks, I suspect that it flares up when I'm stressed, but it seems that I have to try harder to assess and minimize that..

What type of medication are you using to clear up the yeast infections? Over the counter or from a doctor? Last time my doctor gave me a pill and a 3 day cream treatment to clear it up.
