Tampon in for too long.

So I completely forgot that I had a tampon in for the last week almost. I feel so stupid. I noticed a very horrible smell which is very unusual for me because I am very cleanly. And I realized I had a tampon in after I had a fever of about 100 and was shivering uncontrollably. I slept and the fever broke and I stopped shivering but now when I move or walk, my lower abdomen hurts like I have menstrual cramps only worse. I am worried and in a lot of pain.

Oh, we don't know if you have toxic shock syndrome as we can't diagnose anyone on a pubilc forum.

I do recommend that you call your doctor right away and be seen though.  good luck

You need to see a doctor.  Leaving in a tampon for too long can cause toxic shock syndrome (TSS).  If you got a fever, you need to get checked out.  I know the fever is down right now, but since you're in pain, you need urgent care or the ER.  Keep up with tylenol, aspirin, or ibuprofen to keep the fever in check.
