Thanks everyone; I was just curious to hear about other women's experiences with different types of birth control. To answer Timmy's question, I was 9 weeks when I miscarried. However, it was a blighted ovum so I didn't actually get to see the baby on any of the ultrasounds. Still weirds me out a little bit....
I know the pill works good for a lot of pill. However, I just recently came off the pill, was on it for 5 months trying to get use to it. I was on three different kinds and I had such bad side effects from all of them that I don't think the pill is for me. Now I am back to using condoms, which I am not too fond of either. I am going to go and talk to my gyno about the IUD and find out more about that. I am really sorry about your loss.
I've been on tricyclen for 4 months now and I hate it! I feel awful, the nausea was unbearable for the first three, and my boobs have been really sore all along. I trust it, but also feel like ****.
how far along were you? I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I never liked bc pill, so when I have my baby I will probably use something else...
I know your not hinking about this for a birth control touse right now, but what i have used for the last 4 years was, I had my tubes tied after our 4th son, BUT.... got pregnant in 2005 and May of 2006 and miscarried both of them, then got pregnant in June 2006 and had a tubalar pregnancy and it ruptured my left tube, so I had to have surgery and the DR removed both of my tubes.
Good luck to you and sorry about your loss, hopefully you find something that will work for you.
I use the patch. It's nice b/c I'm really horrible at taking the pill. But you know when you wear a band aid for a long time and it moves around and you can see all that sticky gunky stuff around the edges? That's what I don't like. That and my boobs hurt like HELL the whole first month. They were so sore my mom thought I was pregnant b/c that's how she could always tell she was pregnant. I think the tenderness is starting to come back. I'm on the first patch of my second month... it's something to think about.
I am so sorry for your loss. Hope you find strength to get back into the swing of things - I too suffered a miscarriage in 2003 but I really really wanted another baby so I kept trying and got pg again 3 months later. My son will be 2 a week from Friday ;o(
As far as the birth control - You can do condoms, the pill, or and IUD - I would probably do the condoms or IUD before the pill that way when you are ready to have a baby again your body should not have to get use to anything. DH and I do the "pull out" method - I know - NOT SAFE but I am scared of the pill. Too many side effects for me :o) Good Luck to you.
ok i used ortho tri cyclen lo and i have a very beautiful daughter but in the beginning i have severe bleeding and was sent to the hospital. they had performed a urine pregnancy test and a blood test and both came out neg my husband and i had not had sex for 3 weeks because of the bleeding and two weeks after leaving the hospital i went for a pap test and my obgyn said i was pregnant. i myself dont think that this birth control worked
