Swollen clitoris?

Hi, okay so this is kind of embarrassing for me, but my clitoris is very swollen. Kinda like a mini balloon. I have not had sex in 9 months and I'm at no risk for STI's because the only person I was with, I was his first. Just a bit of background: this morning I woke up and noticed that my vaginal area was a little bit itchy, however I'm on my period and sometimes my pads irritate it a tiny bit, no biggie, it goes away, and since I'm on my period now I didn't think anything of it. I then masturbated (I focus on clitoral stimulation) and all went well and when I was finished I noticed it was itching again. When I finally went to scratch it, I noticed how swollen it felt. I went and showered and it's been about an hour now and it's still really swollen. I have no other symptoms (it doesn't hurt to pee, the rest of my vagina is very normal) and its not from scented body wash or anything like that as I haven't used or done anything out of the ordinary and this has never happened. It's not overly painful, just rather unfomfortable. Is it possible I just irritated it by accident or is this something serious? I'm really worried.

Thanks for your comment! Yea it's a bit sensitive to touch, my only concern is how big it is.. It's roughly the size of a grape. And one side is more swollen than the other. Now it's been 4 hours and its not going down. If it persists, ill get a check up. Thanks again!

Hi, Shayla.  I am 43 years old.  I have alot of experience with sex (LOL).  There have been times when sex or masturbation was so good that my clitoris and/or vagina would remain sensitive and a bit swollen for awhile after, then go away.  If this does not sound like you, or you have been lke this for longer than a day or so, you should see your gyn for a checkup.  Blessings - Blu
