swollen vagina

i have been getting a very itchy vagina lately,  it got so itchy that it was unbearable, so i went to the toilet to check it out and i discovered that one of my vagina lips were very swollen. i didnt know what to do, so i got ice and just held it on it for a few minutes to see if it would help it go down, but it didnt. i told my mum and she said it might be a yeast infection, so i have to go to the doctors. im really scared and worried incase its something worse. i searched up what it might be on the interenet and i saw things about getting surgical removal of a cyst, and im worried incase i have one becase i have a small bump near the area. does anyone know what i can do to relieve itchyness or help the swelling go down until i go to the doctors? thanks

thanks for your replies,
the night that i wrote this, i took some itching and pain reliefe tablets and in themorning it went back to normal. i didnt have another problem again until now. on the same place where it was swollen, I think i may have been a little rough when itching a miquito bite (on my thigh neer my vulva), i think i irritated it or something and later on I went to pee and it BURNED, but only in a tiny location, as if it was a cut. i had a look in a mirror and nothing looked out of the ordinary, so maybe i have just got a little cut on my flap?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
First of all it can be due to allergic reaction or contact dermatitis to your undergarments, sanitary napkins or tampons, soaps etc. There is no change in the colour or smell of discharge in this case.

Secondly, It can be due to vaginal infections or STD’s like Chlamydia or thrush for which you need to consult a doctor.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing

It sounds like a yeast infection. Just get some yeast infection cream and try that.
