vaginal pain, Yeast infection??wont go away

i had a uti that wouldnt go away for a few months i went to the doctor, got a prescription, felt like it went away then felt like it came back all within a month.  went back to the doc, said i had a yeast infection from taking anitbiotics for my mouth.  gave me a three day prescription, used vagisil, used monistat, didnt feel better.  went to the gyno, got a pap smear, she tested me for std's, (syphillis and hepetitis i think) then gave me a prescription for "bacteria in the vagina", took the 7 day treatment, missed one day on accident, didnt feeel better called back, no std, gave me a prescription to put in me,(like monistat), am using it now, almost out, been four days, morning and night, two red bumps above vagina, hurt sometimes, almost went away then came back big, look like ingrown hairs or pimples.  i am in the worst pain ever, dont know what to do, do i still have a yeast infection, uti?, std?.  any advice or pills, anything.  please

thanks

I am on antibiotics for a UTI since the 20th. I don't have any burning or itching, but is all red around the inside of the lips of the vagina and a little white discarge, had sex on the 22nd and it really iritated it.But didnt hurt..I do have a lower bladder and it drops sometimes. I have just one sex partner that carries epidydimitis but hasnt had an infection in along time, he is 49 and has had this since his 20's..I talked with him and he has no infections being he went to his dr.just to be checked so what is this problem I have then.?

I have got a lot of uncomfortable discharge for years. I asked a lot of doctors for tests. They also told me that normal thing for ladies. Last month, i could not stand the discharge any more. Came back and asked specifically for a test, again!!! and they found out i had vaginal bacteria. Gave a lot of cream, not worked after 7 days of application. Came back and got prescribed with metronidazole for 10 days. I got a rash all over and still did not go away! really sucks

It probably isn't herpes. I have chronic yeast infections too -my doctor told me the same thing... it's just really persistent.

A slight possibility may be herpes.  The symptoms you've described are ones that most people do not associate with herpes...yeast infections, uti, pain in the groin area, etc.  I don't mean to freak you out or anything but I would ask for the blood test just to be sure.  I just tested positive but have never had anything other than a couple of yeast infections.  I started doing research and found out that 90% of people who have it don't know b/c they either have no symptoms or they don't get sores and only have symptoms that are associated with other issues.  When I graduated from college 6 years ago, it was estimated that 50% of the graduating class had herpes.  My cousin is currently at a different college and the estimate there is about 60%.  Overall, it is estimated that 25% of the population has it.

You can only find out through a culture of a sore or a blood test.  I had to go to three different places before I could get someone to test me b/c I had not had sores.  My own gyno actually refused to test me!  The second Planned Parenthood I went to agreed to test me but still tried to talk me out of it.  Most general doctors/nurses are very uninformed when it comes to herpes and will give you very inaccurate information.  They might say that it doesn't look like herpes or that a blood test will only tell you if you've been exposed but not if you have it or it can tell you how long you've had it, etc.  This is all wrong.

Read in the STD forum about herpes and testing.  There are also some good links from this site to sites that address herpes.  I don't want to freak you out...this is only a slight possibility and something that you can get tested for to rule it out as a cause.
