what do they do to check for a yeast infection when your a virgin.

im itchy down there and it burns where the blood comes out of when ur on ur period im scared and i dont know what they do when your a virgin for a viginal exam and its scaring me because i dont wanna show anybody my vagina please tell me and ima virgin im 16.

Hi there.  Being a virgin doesn't change anything with yeast infections. Newborn babies can get yeast infections.  The way a doctor checks for yeast is to take a swab of the discharge.  It's easy to do and not very invasive.  Then you'll be given either a pill to take for it or told to do the over the counter meds to treat it.  good luck
