I have at times felt tempted to use Christmas stuff in place of Halloween. I'd dress up as Santa for Halloween and give out Christmas candy, but I'm the wrong gender for that, lol.
Lately we only decorate for Christmas. My grandma isn't able to really get the decorations up and it's not really her thing. Some of the holidays bring her unpleasant memories. That said, last year I bought us a couple LED Christmas light sets. I've seen so many cool ones at the store I am tempted to buy but must refrain.
I decorate for Thanksgiving & Christmas. I have different sets of (dinnerware) plates, cups, mats, table runners for my dinner table. I Love when My family comes over to my house for dinner parties. I also love decorating!! Thats my favorite hobby. Last year My Hubby & I bought sooo much Xmas decorations for the inside and outside of our house, it looked so beatiful!! That gets me in the Holiday spirit becuase I can't count on the weather to do that. I Live in FL and its HOT all year around!
we have a bunch of farms in the area that do that. when the kids get older we're going to take them to pumpkin patches to pick out their pumpkins. it's lots of fun.
Wouldn't it be great to go to a pumpkin patch on a hay wagon and pick out the best pumkins....Just me and my imagination. I live in Chicago, I have to a grocery story for a pumkin :)
I want pumpkins! We aren't going to get ours until this weekend :( but I'm really looking forward to it..especially the carving and then salting and roasting the seeds. :)
we actually bought the boys their first pumpkins last night. we're going to give them some crayons and let them color on them, stick em outside for decoration.
We have several wonderful places here in Chicago, "Michael's and JoAnn's specialty craft retail stores", which are my favorite's. They have everything!!! Halloween is will approach soon and it's a perfect place for decorations only. The real large pumkins I seperately. But, I love the approaching holiday seasons...fun!
I actually found most of them at the dollar store! They are all glass and we love them. I just bought them when that season came around. :) You can also get the glasses to go with them.
those sound SO cute victoria!!! where did you find all of those? when greg and i buy our house i want to start having holiday dinners at our place and i want to have the holiday dinnerware. (and the decorations to go with it.)
I go all out and then some! :)
Yes, I have different holiday plates for each holiday. I have Halloween ones that are black and orange with ghosts on them. I have brown and orange ones with turkeys for Thanksgiving. I actually have four sets of Christmas ones, snowmen, Santa, holly, and reindeer. My Valentines Day ones are heart shaped, pink and red. My Easter ones are pastel with bunnies and eggs. And last but not least, my Fourth of July ones are rectangle flags. :) :) I think I need more storage space, LOL
