Vitamin D deficiency

Hi everyone,
I'm a new member here and have Vitamin D deficiency. My level was 20 (normal range 30 - 100) and now it is at 28 after 3 weeks approximately. I also have low levels of B12, around 250 (normal range 200 - 1100). I have symptoms similar to some of the members here:

1. Anxiety/panic attacks with palpitations
2. Fatigue
3. Lack of interest and concentration
4. Muscle aches, especially on the back, right side
5. Muscle spasm/tightness: abdominal, chest, seizures (sometimes)
6. Headaches
7. Vertigo and dizziness sometimes, especially when I feel panicky

My doctor, who is a great doctor thinks that all my symptoms are due to low levels of Vitamin B12 and it takes about a month or more for B12 to kickin.. It has been 2 weeks since I started my B12 treatment and now my levels are at 1,000 or so but it still takes time to kickin.. According to my doctor, Vitamin D deficiency shouldn't cause any symptoms at all but after reading online and checking this forum, looks like it does. Is this due to the effect Vitamin D has on the production of serotonin? Can anyone share their story?

Thanks!

Vitamin D is a neuro-hormone and there are studies showing that it does improve mood (depression) but I'm don't know through what mechanism. We have had similar responses to vitamin D in that I began with a level of 20 and went up to 27 after approximately 3 weeks of therapy. I've had problems tolerating high doses so it will probably take me quite awhile to reach maximum improvement on a reduced dose. As to whether vitamin D is the cause of all my symptoms or simply a contributing factor I don't know. But my attitude is that raising my levels can't hurt and might help. Many of us with vitamin D deficiency do have similar symptoms -- I'd be thrilled if upon hitting a vitamin D level of 40-50 my symptoms resolved. I should mention that some have improved but I have co-existing problems (a pinched nerve, multilevel degenerative disc disease, osteoporosis, and possibly a thyroid/parathyroid issue which was unmasked due to vitamin D therapy.

I did notice that my symptoms have improved about 10-15% since starting the treatment.. How long does it take to improve from Vitamin D deficiency usually?

Thanks!
