i had an enlarged thyroid, with multi-nodules and suspicion of follicular and papillary cancer. so it was removed. it wasn't until after ward that my vitamin d levels were checked that i came up a 10 . i've read that the thyroid being low can drag down alot of others including testosterone and vitamin d not sure? i was sick for over a year before the operation, so really not sure what happened first. but now im much better. you have to also see that your free t3 is in the upper 1/3 pf the range to relieve symtoms not just in range, alot of doctors just are happy if you fall in range but for alot of people to relieve symtoms you have top be in the upper range of free t3 and half of range with free t4 (in order to have enough T4 to convert to Free T3) free t3 is what relieves symtoms gives energy and makes you feel good. it should correspond with a low tsh range 0.3 to 2 but doesn't always. something to look at. Kevin
I have my thyroid checked, but free T4 and 3 were normal. Were your levels normal? Someone told me that I should still considered thyroid issue even if levels were normal.
yes i took d3 vitamin d . i had a million symtoms. but my thyroid also went bad . so not sure which caused all the symtoms. got my thyroid levels in line and been supplementing with ofc vitamin d3 for over a year now. feel much better today. not 100 percent but close 99 . energy is good. muscle are good. but was in terrible shape inthe beginning . took a ling time to get back to normal. Kevin
Thanks for posting. Cna you tell us about your beginning level, symptoms, recovery time, and how you feel today? Tx
I envy your ability to maintain such high levels for over a year!! Did you take d3 gel caps?
took 6 months to get to 43 then 6 months more to get to 88 on 5k to 10 k dailey.
take 10k a day. been doing this for over a year now. thanks Kevin
Man, my typing is horrible today. Just getting to the good range ISN'T enough.
Forgot to add, just getting to the good range is enough. You need to keep it in the good range so your body can heal from any of the negative side effects of the deficiency.
88ng/ml total is considered very good. What have you been taking to get this level? Although very rare, you can get what doctor term "too high". It is usually hard for someone who has a severe deficiency to get "toxic". Let us know what your current dosing regiment is and how long you have been on that dose.
