A  regular oxygen. level is 92%,with a level of 68%,you are so correct, you need to be hospitalized.

I too have C.O.P.D,and have been hospitalized 10 times in the last year, many due to the fact my levels drop,I become loopy, and very discombobulated.

Just this past Thursday while at a Dr's appointment,my blood pressure was low,and I am medicated for high blood pressure, and my oxygen levels were 63%,my Dr had to,by law, call a ambulance and have me sent to hospital.

I'm in the process now of looking for a finger pulse oximeter,so I can monitor my oxygen levels and see if I need to have oxygen at home.

You are so right, one shouldn't mess about when it comes to your oxygen levels, and one should go A.S.A.P  to the hospital.

I don't know what was wrong with that lady's Dr,bit he should have sent her right away to hospital,it's not something to take lightly at all.

I hope you are doing well and you've not had to have too many hospital stays.

All the best.

You should have been sent to the hospital. I had an oxygen level of 63 and the Doctor sent me to the hospital in an ambulance. I spent 5 days in the hospital and my level came back to 64. They sent me home with oxygen. They say I have moderate to severe copd.
My levels are now 91. I have to sleep with oxygen, but at least It is not 24-7 like it was. This was a month ago.
I will pray it is not copd that you have, should it be, Your frame of mind and determination will go a long way to your recovery. Don't let anyone count you out.

Are you sure he said 68 per cent? Any doctor who got a reading like that would take immediate action. Were you able to walk? To speak? The lowest reading I have ever had  was 83. I scared myself and I very quickly did breathing exercises. Usually I am 90 or 91, and with exercises go to 95, and sometimes higher.

Dear Blue,

What did your allergist have to say about the 68% O2 level?  When my level gets 90 or below I am faced with hospitalization.  You need to go to the ER.  The best person to ask regarding the symptoms of asthma and/or COPD is your doctor. One thing I can tell you is that with both conditions the doctor will hear cracks, pops, and wheezing down in your lungs, and you will be on oxygen with an O2 level of 68%.
