1) Have a smaller marrying, suggest an "intimate" marriage
2) Family members for serving food rather than workers
3) Music players instead of bands/musicians
4) Friends for organising instead of outside contracts
5) Have marriage venue far from place where maximum relatives live
6) Have least possible decoration
7) Save on cost of outfits
8) No hired photographer, keep a bunch of disposable cameras on a table for people to click
9) Park is cheaper than a building
10) Pick flowers from neighbour's, relatives garden or your own backyard
11) Have a pastor
12) Have handed down rings
13) Do each other's hair and make-up by organising a make-up party
14) Write your own vows
15) No champagne or drinks, better have soft drinks
16) Don't rent a limo, have a decent economic car
17) Find a relative/friend who is a fashion designer
18) Buy as much as possible from friends/relatives who either sell the stuff or who know where it can be found cheapest

I like the idea of a simple wedding. Somehow it seems more romantic to me (you know, a wedding in the woods....dancing to music on a CD player....fairy lights in the trees.....campfire food.....wildflowers and ivy wreaths in your hair instead of tiaras and veils.....

Thank you jagrut this would certainly save a lot I agree ,you can still have a great day without all the expense ......I guess it all depends who is paying of course....
Great ideas! It frustrates me when I see people spending thousands of dollars on their weddings and they are so fraught with stress that they don't even enjoy them. The wedding does not make the marriage! Save your money and put it into a home.
