Thank you for your input! I was convinced I had a hiatal hernia, but then I had an EGD done, and the doctor said it was normal?? Could the EGD be wrong?
I have a hiatal hernia, and this can cause the symptoms you are mentioning. I also get the same feelings as you, mine is not only due to the hiatal hernia, but also due to bloating and gas, it is not fun.
If you have food allergies, they can cause this problem as well.
I have had an egd and they did not find a hiatal hernia. Can you still have one even if they don't find one on the egd? Just went to an endocrinologist yesterday and she thinks i have lpr (laryngopheal (sp?) reflux). I am going tomorrow to an ent. All i do is go to doctor's appts!
I would look into ur daily constitutionals and make sure u r expelling everyday the right amount/size.....
Have u had tests to rule out a hiatal hernia, or other issues?
There r several types of reflux....see the Health Pages and see if ne of the descriptions there fit u.
Does ur voice get raspy?

Bloating is a problem. It seems that after i eat the slightest amount of food now, I get bloated. Then, it's hard to breathe and the whole vicious cycle starts again. I have not had any testing that has dx me with gerd. In fact, I had an EGD done and they saw no evidence of GERD. But, I have had multiple drs. tell me it could be. I am so confused!
Hi...bloating can cause this feeling u mention....ur bowel habits can be something to look at as well....make sure u discuss this with ur dr.
Are u dx with gerd?
If not u may want to see a GI dr and rule it out.
Good luck
