Blood on penis during oral sex

Hello Dr. HHH, thank you for taking the time to read this!

Anyway, I about 3 months ago, I saw an escort on an occasion, and we had protected sexual intercourse; however, when she got off me, and I my penis came out, I noticed her blood on the condom.  I was very worried to see all this blood, but she said I had nothing to worry about because I wore a condom, but I know she is no expert!  Are there any risks of hiv exposure?  Also, she began to give me oral sex afterwards with the same condom on and then she kissed me a lot.  I can remember brushing and flossing my teeth before this encounter and wonder if maybe I had a small cut in my mouth.  Is there any chance of hiv transmission there?

My second question is ... last night I was with another escort and we had protected sexual intercourse, but unprotected oral sex.  During oral sex, she was quite rough and the friction of her teeth cut my penis slightly when I pulled it out of her mouth.  I am just wondering if there is any risk of hiv there too?  I mean, what if she had a small cut on the inside of her mouth?  Are there any risks?

I usually get hiv tested every six months and they always come back negative.  I always wear a condom during sexual intercourse, but sometime not during oral sex.  Sometimes there is kissing too.  I am worried about oral sex and hiv transmission.  I would also really like to break this bad habit of seeing escorts.  I am always worried after they leave!  Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions Dr. HHH!  I really appreciate it!

Re-read my reply above.  As for your symptoms, they don't sound like HIV.   Whenever someone believes his or her own symptoms might have an emotional or psychological origin ("It may be all due to my anxiety") usually they are right.  But if you remain anxious about it, have an HIV test.  Enough time has passed for reliable testing.  You can expect a negative result.

Feel free to add a final comment to report the result of an HIV test.  Otherwise this thread is closed.

I mentioned previously that I didn't have protected oral sex with this escort.  When I pulled my penis out, I noticed some blood on my penis due to her teeth.  It has been a while since I had this encounter and I have some flu like symptoms and I also notice a small lympth node on the back of my left ear behind the lobe.  It may be all due to my anxiety but I am very worried.  What if she had a small cut inside her mouth or something or what if her siliva got in somehow?  I also gave her oral sex too.  What are the chances that I caught something from her?  I don't believe I had any cuts in my mouth.  Thank you!

To catch HIV, you have to be exposed to it -- and the chance any particular escort has HIV is very low, assuming you are in the US or other industrialized country.  And HIV is rarely if ever transmitted by oral sex -- some experts believe there is no risk at all, and others estimate a risk of 1 in 20,000 for oral to penile transmission.  That's equivalent to receiving oral sex by HIV infected oral partners once a day for 55 years before transmission occurs -- and maybe not even then.  And your exposures apparently were condom protected.  Getting blood on the outside of a condom, or even on the skin of the penis, isn't a risk for HIV.

As far as being "worried after they [escorts] leave" and "this bad habit of seeing escorts", that's not the business of this forum.  We provide HIV related advice, not counseling about sexual behavior.  You should seek professional counseling about it.

Regards--  HHH, MD

But don't worry about HIV.  It's not an issue here
