Blurred Vision that goes away after rubbing eyes

Hello,
I have noticed that there are times throughout the day when my vision becomes partially blurry. What I mean is that part of my visual field appears blurry, whether it be the peripheral or central. It feels and looks as if there is a extremely thin layer of vaseline on my eye. Usually, rubbing my eyes makes the blurriness go away. This same phenomenon occurs almost every morning for me, typically in my left eye.
Any idea what it could be?
I have been to recent opthamologists for other issues relating to floaters/flashers and have a normal eye exam, however, I have never brought this problem to attention.
Thanks

It could be a film that develops over the visual field because of atmospheric changes that occur because of temperature, or even naturally occurring  petrochemicals from motor car exhaust etc.,

I call it "foggy eye" since it reminds me of a fog and probably relies on a similar set of circumstances to a foggy day for it to manifest.

I have the same problem.   Just like your's but in the other eye.  An optometrist friend of the family said it sounds like dry eye.
