Hi,
sounds like your doctor is on the ball. Please make sure your levels are tested every 4 weeks. YOu may need to increase the meds as the pregnancy progresses. This is normal and expected. It is important to monitor this closely for you and the baby's health..
TSH should be in range of 1 - 2 AND (even more importantly) FT3 and FT4 should be in the upper end of the reference range.
HI! I'm a 26 year old girl and I recently went to the doctor and had blood tests done. He said that my TSH level was 7.56. Is that bad? t3 and t4 test is normal range.....
HI! I'm a 26 year old girl and I recently went to the doctor and had blood tests done. He said that my thyroid level was 7.56. Is that bad? t3 and t4 test is normal range.....
Thank you so much Sally.. I had consulted to the physican and he gave me a tab. He says "Don't worry, TSH level will go down and you can continue your preg.. "
7.4 is too high. Should be under 3.0 or even 2.5. Probably time for a doctor's visit to increase thyroid meds. a bit. Are you having any hypothyroid symptoms of being undermedicated? You also need to be tracking more than the TSH! The actual available thyroid hormones (Free t3 and Free t4) are most important and tell us/you much more than the pituitary signal TSH. Are you on a t4 only med or a combo. t3/t4 med?
I HAD MY THRYOID REMOVED NOV 2009 MY LAST TSH LEVEL WAS 7.4 IS THAT GOOD OR BAD, NORMAL.
However you need to be given thyroid meds immediately and they will need to be adjusted throughout your pregnancy.
Testing TSH alone is not enough. THey also need to test FT3 and FT4. TSH should be in the range of 1 - 2, AND (more importantly) FT3 and FT4 should be in the upper end of the reference range. Testing should be every 4 weeks during your pregnancy and after every medication adjustment. It is normal for thyroid hormone demands to increase during pregnancy.
You need to see the doctor and get treated for this immediately. It is very important for the normal developmeetn of the baby and for a healthy pregnancy.
