If you can, please see the "tell us something about yourself" portion of my profile that I just typed as part of joining medhelp. It sounds to me (although I am NOT a doctor & my suggestions, etc., should never be used instead of consulting a physician) like you may have chronic pancreatitis. If you read my writeup, you'll see that I didn't get help for many, many years as most doctors are loathe to diagnose something w/o clear cut evidence. That said, in the litany of doctors I did see, 2 actually said (& did) things that made sense to me. The first Dr., said the following after I had a sort of "exploratory" ERCP: "although I see only minor changes in your pancreas...you must remember that EVERY disease process starts at the cellular level before it has progressed to the point that it can be seen to the naked eye or even using visual imaging studies" (like MRIs, CT scans, etc.) I have repeated that line to a number of physicians and every one of them paused to think about it & they all agreed that this is very true. Not that this will help you but it's something to consider & fun to watch their reaction when you come out w/something so profoundly true!! That said, again read my profile writeup as well as describing to me exactly what your pain feels like, where it happens, etc., and if it seems like cp & you're interested, I'll give you the name/phone number & email (yes! this doctor actually uses modern forms of communication w/his patients and will email you answers to questions, etc.) of my surgeon. He also believes that often, diagnosis isn't able to be made until a biopsy is examined under the microscope and even then he told me that if the biopsied portion taken for the exam is a "healthy" portion, the diagnosis can be wrong in that there may be other areas of the pancreas that are diseased but did not get taken for a biopsy. Please read my story and then write to me again ok? Thanks!
Hello! I have actually been to 4 different GI doctors.. And no one has any answers...I was hoping there would be a miracle and a GI doctor on this website would help or give some new suggestions! :)
Have you tried a different dr??? The joint pain could be from your immune system taking a beating. Motillium generally works well. And I say--the hell with a psych and find a differ dr.!!!!!
