Dental nervous

Hi I recently went to the dentist to do two root canals, when I went for the second stage of root canal(the prepping of the tooth for the crowns)  I noticed while the dental assistant was preparing the gums for, as she put it to get a proper impression, I noticed she took up a very large syringe or at least it looked like a syringe, that was filled with a red substance, I noticed it but I just thought it was some kind of medicine for the gum, but because I have anxiety, when I came home I started thinking of it...... My question to you is, is there a red liquid or a red syringe that a dentist uses on the gum or surrounding the teeth area? I know this might sound ridiculous but when I think of the red liquid now I think of blood.

Don’t panic for the red color. These are impression materials as Jerome said and is called as “goo” that sets very well in mouth and takes a mold of the teeth for the lab to make your crowns.

It was probably impression material that was red in color.  It comes in various colors.  The material is a "goo" that sets in your mouth and takes a mold of the teeth for the lab to make your crowns.
