I assume your doctor is currently treating the infection? I don't know much about perforation but it would seem it may heal on its own or could be repaired.
Hysterectomy is major surgery and at least 90% of them are unnecessary. There are short and long-term repercussions of which most doctors fail to tell their patients. The typical surgical recovery lasts 4-6 weeks during which you will be limited in activities including lifting. No driving allowed for an initial period. Prep sometimes includes a bowel clean-out such is done for colonoscopy.
Since the uterus and ovaries have lifelong functions, you will experience a number of serious negative effects over time - anatomical, hormonal, sexual - even if you keep your ovaries. I can explain further if you'd like.
