Smell and covid

Does covid have a long lasting impact on your smell?

I had covid in January of 2021. I completely lost my sense of smell and taste. It has yet to come back fully. Smells are off or limited, taste on certain things is completely off (tastes like bug spray). I do have some smell and taste back though. but not entirely. there is a nerve that can be damaged with covid that is responsible for smell. I still have hope my senses will fully return.
