Any Treatment for diabetic neuropathy?

My sister has had type 1 for 25 years, just started to get foot pain and numbness 6 months ago from high sugars for years. :( It is really progressing fast. Daily. Anyone here have progressive tight, searing pain in their toes and now discoloration, slightly? A light purple shade on toes. The pain is awful. She can barely WALk. Also very numb feeling too.
She is trying to get sugars down but it is very difficult as they PLUMMET with even a tiny amount of insulin. So it's so hard to get them in normal range, for years. She has an appt. soon...but what else can be done? She is looking into spinal stimulator that supposedly helps foot pain. Any tips welcome. She is in true need of relief and treatment. Any tips on how you may have reversed your own neuropathy as well; what you ate, etc. Thank you so much.

That's so awful!  Has she not had any help for understanding what is going on from her doctor? Are you sure it is diabetes related?
She saw a neurologist  for this issue and it is neuropathy  from diabetes yes. He barely gave  any feedback  and told her no real treatment  option. It left her very hopeless. There ARE treatment  options we are now learning  but not all will be effective.  Ty for your words friend.  She is hoping to try laser therapy  soon.
