you might want to start a new thread...this one is from 2007
Just got my bood work results this morning after 4 weeks of treatment my virus count to start was 4.66 x 10(6) or 4,660,000 copies and @ 4 weeks of treatment my results are 1.15 x 10(4) or 11,500 copies couls sopmeone tell me if this is considered Early Virological Response....
Good for you... are you having many side effects and what treatmen are you doing?
hey hey gracie, you beat me!!! but I still dropped a log, so not too far behind you...we're both doing great!!! Yee HAH!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd say if you are more than half way home you are doing great! the fact is, the virus is not winning the treatment is. As a 1a you will be expected to treat for 48 weeks minimum, but I would not worry about your response rate, for 1a that's not bad.
It's true some 1a er's get a 2 log drop the 1st month....but by no means all do. the main thing is to focus on the glass being 5/8 full and this with 2 whole months to finish the "goal" of the first hurdle.
I wish you well.....I'll be getting my first month VL tomorrow so maybe we can compare notes.
Personally, whether one responds slow or fast, the important thing here is that you ARE responding. this means a good chance of healing and cannot/should not be under celebrated!!
hope that helps.
Your viral load has dropped 1.35 log at 4 weeks. That is good enough to continue treatment, but it might be a sign that you could be a slow responder, i e have at least a 2-log drop at week 12 but not be UND until somewhere between week 12 and 24.
geno type 1a and 0/3 on biopsy no imflamation only fibrosis and I was 1million 420 thousand now I'm less than 62,800 thousand and they say that a 2 log at only 4 weeks
142,000 would be a 1 log drop. 14,200 would be a 2 log drop. See if you can get another viral load test(s) between now and week 12. Most docs will pull you off treatment if you don't get a 2log drop by week 12. Others here will probably weigh in on intensifying/prolonging your treatment. What is your genotype and your biopsy results?
