anxiety

Bert is on his 7th week of tx.  Hep c geno type 1 and the anxiety is getting worse. Any suggestions on what to do?

Started taking Xanax but because of his history with taking too many med's it became a problem and he is trying not to take them at all or if he does I give them to him,.

Any idea's of what kind of med's he could ask for that are not habit forming?  He is already on lexapro (has been for years).

Thanks

wow, well, all the above basics being covered, let me add a couple things only:

prayer is the best of helps, I can feel my spirit life when hubby is praying for me when my own resolve to pray is waning or weary.

Another wonderful aide is putting on soothing music, whatever kind he likes, sometimes I like classical but mostly just good instrumental guitarists be they garden home varieties like  John Williams etc, or classically Spanish trained, like Segovia and many others.

Something about simple guitar strings and/or flutes is comforting.

Violins on the other hand, tend to make me cry more, they are beautiful, but strike at different brain cells and heart chords and can almost be too much. Don't know why exactly that is, maybe because violins sort of "cry" in their own stunning way, and crying isn't what needs solictiation.

just try some things until you find what works.
Also, any old reruns or albums he used to like,
anything like that or sometimes a return to the "familiar" can be calming.
