Cunnilingus

Hello Doctor
I visited a stripper in jan08. The only exposure I had was performing unprotected cunnilingus. This was my first exposure ever in life. There were absolutely no symptoms until 6 weeks. On 6th week I had a mild feverish feeling which did not last for more than 2 hrs. Same thing happened the next day . so I was very worried and I got an oral test done after 40 days of exposure which was negative. Every thing was fine but after every 2-3 days in the evening I have a very mild feverish feeling for 1-2 hrs which make me very worried although I have think this should be a very low risk exposure since it was the first time (and the last time too). So I got one more test done after 54 days which was also negative. I also have a very mild scratching in my throat which lasts 3-4 days a week. On 55th day I also experienced a very mild diarrhoea like symptoms(this I think was due to some problem with my dinner) .
Although I have repetitive negative tests I am still worried.
1. due you think these symptoms reveal any presence of HIV.
2. Should I believe the tests or should I go for a rapid blood tests ( I am very worried of the false positive tests).
3. Do you think any of these symptoms indicate presence of any other STD?

Appreciate your reply
Please help

If you had followed the advice above ("please review other threads in our archives for questions similar to yours and Dr. Handsfield's replies"), you would have seen that cunnilungus carries no risk, symptoms never are a valid indicator of new HIV in low risk situations, and that test results always outweigh the riskiest of exposures and the most classical of symptoms (which you don't have).

Apparently you have a grossly inflated view of how common HIV is and how easy it is to transmit.  Do you really envision people going for an HIV test every time s/he has oral sex with a new partner?

So relax.  The answers are no, yes, and no.

It's not stupid to ask -- but your question was answered in my reply above.  See the comment about symptoms never being a useful indicator of new HIV infection.  That includes diarrhea, which anyway isn't a common symptom of HIV.  And since you weren't at risk for HIV, it is impossible that any symptom you have is due to that cause.

Thanks a lot dcor for you quick response. I have a last question. After my 8th week test i am experiencing a mild diarrhoea like symptoms for past 3 days. so that is the only thing which worries me. Do u think is this anywhere related to HIV? sorry if my question sounds too stupid. but i assure you that this will be my last question on this thread. thanks a lot
