microcalcifications

after having breast cancer almost 7 years ago, it does not seem to get any easier.  i have been having biopsies for calcifications every time i have a mammogram.  7 clusters of microcalcifcations have all come out benign. i am now awaiting another biospy from this mammo.  i am getting very frustrated that i need a biospy every time just because i had one lump that was cancer.  i dont know how to deal with this anymore as it seems that my life is all about checking and biopsying.  its hard to live in this manner.  any suggestions

i have considered bilateral mastectomy  many times.  i dont know if i could go through with it voluntarily.  thats my problem.  i think i would only do it if i had to.  but i know i would find a little more peace with the outcome

Have you considered bilateral mastectomy? It seems to bring some peace to some women who have been plagued with continuing breast issues. Kinda drastic. Just wondering if it has come up in your discussions.

thank you for your wishes.  I suppose I needed to vent to last nite.  are you dealing with a similar situation?

Not really, if you are willing to take the chance of letting something go by undiagnosed I suppose you could just ignore the recommendation and do nothing. I'm not sure I would do that but that decision would be entirely up to you. I'm sorry you have this recurring problem. I can see that it would become very discouraging. wishing you the best.
