The fact that the mammograms are normal are indeed comforting in the sense that we may not be dealing with something serious. Off hand, the most common cause for this itching are fungal infections, even if you already have used anti-fungal creams, these infections may recur. I suggest that you have this looked at by a dermatologist. A test called KOH smear will determine if there are fungal elements in the areola. A skin biopsy may be needed to ultimately find the cause. You may discuss these options with the dermatologist. For now, keep the area dry and avoid any form of trauma to the area.
